Where a wall can be enough

If the wall is unusually smooth, flat, neutral in color and already the exact size you want, projection can look good without a screen. This is a reasonable way to test image size before buying.

What a dedicated screen controls

  • Surface color and reflectivity.
  • Flatness and texture consistency.
  • A clean black or defined image border depending on frame design.
  • A known gain specification.
  • A repeatable installation target for projector alignment.

UST makes wall imperfections more obvious

Ultra-short throw light grazes the surface at a steep angle. Small bumps and waves can cast visible shadows or distort geometry, making a tensioned screen more valuable.

A fixed-frame upgrade path

If you decide to move from a wall to a permanent screen, the NothingProjector model offers 100″/120″ 16:9 sizing with matte-white material.
