Fixed frame strengths

  • Consistent tension and flatness.
  • No motor or rolling mechanism.
  • Always ready; no deployment wait.
  • Strong fit for dedicated theaters and many UST setups.

Motorized strengths

  • Wall can be used for artwork, windows or a television when the screen is retracted.
  • Useful in multipurpose rooms.
  • Drop position can solve some room-layout challenges.
  • Floor-rising versions can work where wall mounting is undesirable.

UST buyers should prioritize tension

Any retractable screen used with UST should be especially flat. Tab tensioning or purpose-built UST floor-rising designs are common because non-tensioned waves are easier to see at steep projection angles.
